In July 2010, a Gillen designed precast elevated platform was installed in W Memphis, AR. The platform was designed to 2' above the 100 year flood elevation. This resulted in an overall height of 20' above ground level. The walls, shelter and generator were installed in less than 3 hours. The photo to the left was taken after the stairs were installed.
On Tuesday, May 9, 2011, the Mississippi River water level rose to an elevation not seen since the 1920's. This picture was taken during the river's crest where there was approximately 24" of freeboard.
